Osaka, 13 October 2025. Mr. Célio da Silva, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan, accompanied H.E. the First Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, and H.E. the Minister of Interior, Mr. Francisco Guterres, to attend the official closing ceremony of Osaka Expo 2025.
Conclusion of a Six-Month Global Exhibition
Osaka Expo 2025, which officially commenced on 13 April 2025, concluded after six months of exhibitions and activities. The event marked the end of a major international gathering that brought together innovation, culture, and cooperation from around the world.
It was announced that the next World Expo will be held in 2030 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
High-Level Participation at the Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony was attended by representatives from 158 participating countries, international organizations, diplomatic missions, the Governor of Osaka, senior members of the Japanese Government, and the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Mr. Shigeru Ishiba.
The ceremony was also graced by the presence of H.I.H. Crown Prince Fumihito of Japan and H.I.H. Crown Princess Kiko Kawashima, reflecting the significance of the event at the highest national and international levels.
