TOKYO, 11 November 2025 — The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Tokyo attended the ceremony commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Angola, held at Hotel Okura, Tokyo.
Representing H.E. Mrs. Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, Timor-Leste was represented by Ms. Faviola Henriques da Cruz, Technical Staff for Administration and Finance of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo.
The Golden Jubilee commemoration was held under the theme:
“1975–2025: Preserving and Valuing Achievements Attained for a Better Future.”
The presence of Timor-Leste’s representative reflected the spirit of solidarity and friendship among partner nations, particularly within the community of Portuguese-speaking countries. On this occasion, the Embassy of Timor-Leste conveyed its sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of Angola.
This historic milestone is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between Timor-Leste and Angola across various sectors in the years ahead.
