HAMAMATSU, 30–31 December 2025 – Her Excellency Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, participated in a series of solidarity activities with the Timorese community in Hamamatsu. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Faviola Henriques da Cruz, Administrative and Finance Officer of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo.
Organized by the Timor-Leste Student Association in Japan (AEJT) in collaboration with Father Ambrosio Lucas, SDB, the two-day event brought together Timorese nationals and families residing in the Hamamatsu area to foster unity and strengthen the diaspora network.
The program served as a multifaceted gathering to promote mutual respect and national pride. It combined a commemoration of National Heroes’ Day with the celebration of Christmas and the welcoming of the New Year, all within a spirit of fraternity and togetherness.
Through this visit, the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Japan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting its nationals abroad. The Ambassador highlighted the importance of preserving national values and cultural identity, ensuring that the spirit of Timor-Leste remains strong within the overseas community.
