TOKYO – Counselor Celio Moniz attended the reception commemorating the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and the 70th Anniversary of the Normalization of Philippines–Japan Diplomatic Relations, held in Tokyo.
The celebration was hosted by the Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan, Her Excellency Mylene Garcia-Albano, and was attended by several distinguished guests, including:

- The Honorable Kunimitsu Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan; and
- The Honorable Hayashi Yoshimasa, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan.
The event also brought together members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Japanese government, private sector executives, and business leaders from both Japan and the Philippines.
The reception served as an important occasion to celebrate the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and Japan, highlighting the significant milestones achieved through seven decades of diplomatic relations. The event also provided an opportunity for participants to reaffirm their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including economic development, regional stability, people-to-people exchanges, and strategic partnerships.
