Following the conclusion of the first day of the Book of Condolences opened in honor of the late former President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Dr. Francisco Guterres, the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo received courtesy visits from representatives of esteemed nations, heads of diplomatic missions, and leaders of international institutions.
Their presence reflected a shared expression of respect, solidarity, and sincere condolences during this period of national mourning. Delegations also conveyed their sympathies in person to Her Excellency Maria Terezinha Viegas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan.
The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Tokyo extends its highest appreciation for the messages of condolence, friendship, and support received from the international community.
Please be informed that the Book of Condolences at the Embassy will remain open for members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of institutions, and the general public until Friday, 26 June 2026.
