TOKYO – The Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Japan, H.E. Maria Terezinha Viegas, received a courtesy call from a group of Timor-Leste students who have recently completed their studies in Japan, on Thursday, 2 July 2026.
The meeting, held at the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo, was also attended by Ms. Kumei Misa, a representative of the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), who accompanied the graduates.
The visit provided the graduates with an opportunity to convey their deepest gratitude and appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Viegas, the Embassy staff, and JICE. They emphasized that the continuous guidance, assistance, and support extended to them over the past several years had been instrumental to their academic success in Japan.
In response, the Embassy congratulated the graduates on their achievements and wished them a safe and smooth journey back to Timor-Leste.
It is hoped that the knowledge and experience gained during their studies in Japan will open new opportunities for their future and enable them to make meaningful contributions to the nation-building efforts of Timor-Leste.
