The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan, through its Labour Attaché, João Mendonça, welcomed two Timorese nationals, Fernando Sousa dos Santos and Jeremias Caetano, upon their arrival at Narita International Airport.
The two trainees then travelled to Ibaraki Prefecture, where they will begin a three-year internship under Japan's Technical Intern Training (TIT) Program.
With their arrival, the total number of Timorese technical intern trainees in Ibaraki Prefecture has reached 25. Their participation in the TIT Program reflects the continued engagement between Timor-Leste and Japan in supporting employment opportunities, skills development, and professional experience for Timorese nationals in Japan.
The Embassy remains committed to supporting the welfare and protection of Timorese technical intern trainees throughout their stay in Japan, while continuing to strengthen cooperation with relevant Japanese partners.
The Embassy of Timor-Leste wishes Fernando Sousa dos Santos and Jeremias Caetano every success as they begin their three-year internship in Japan, and hopes that their experience will contribute positively to their professional development and future careers.
