Tokyo, 27 August 2026 — Ambassador Viegas and Third Secretary Egídio welcomed seven new Timorese students under the JDS Scholarship, who will further their studies at Japanese universities in different fields.
Coming from diverse backgrounds, the students will undertake two-year Master’s or PhD programmes at universities including Gifu University, Hiroshima University, and Niigata University. Their studies are expected to bring benefits to themselves and contribute to the future of Timor-Leste, while providing them with opportunities to experience a new language and culture and gain new knowledge.
The Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo wishes the seven students good luck and every success as they begin this new chapter of their lives.
東京、2026年8月27日 — ヴィエガス大使およびエジディオ第三書記官は、JDS奨学金制度により、日本の大学でさまざまな分野の学業を続ける7名の新たなティモール・レステ人留学生を歓迎しました。
異なる背景を持つこれらの学生は、岐阜大学、広島大学、新潟大学などの大学で、2年間の修士課程または博士課程において学業を続けます。日本での学びは、学生自身にとって有益なものとなるとともに、ティモール・レステの将来にも貢献することが期待されます。また、日本で新たな言語や文化に触れ、新しい知識を身につける機会となります。
駐日ティモール・レステ大使館は、7名の学生が新たな人生の一歩を踏み出すにあたり、今後の学業のご成功とご多幸を心よりお祈りいたします。
