The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan is the official diplomatic mission tasked with representing and advancing the interests of Timor-Leste in Japan. The Embassy plays a key role in strengthening bilateral relations between Timor-Leste and Japan in political, economic, development, cultural, and people-to-people domains.
As an ASEAN member, Timor-Leste actively engages with Japan within regional and multilateral frameworks, including through various ASEAN mechanisms in Tokyo. In this context, the Embassy contributes to promoting dialogue, regional stability, and cooperation in Southeast Asia as well as the broader Indo-Pacific region.
In addition to its diplomatic functions, the Embassy provides consular services to Timor-Leste nationals in Japan and facilitates the promotion of trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.
