TOKYO, 25 November 2025 — Counselor Celio Moniz, representing the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, attended a farewell dinner in honor of H.E. Mr. Tuy Ry, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan.
The dinner was organized within the framework of the ASEAN Community in Tokyo (ACT) and brought together Heads of Mission and representatives of ASEAN member states. The program opened with welcoming remarks by H.E. Kyaw Tun, Ambassador of Myanmar to Japan and current Chair of ACT.
Following this, a commemorative memento was formally presented to Ambassador Tuy Ry as a gesture of appreciation for his service and contribution to ASEAN cooperation in Japan.
In his farewell remarks, Ambassador Tuy Ry expressed his sincere gratitude to fellow ASEAN Ambassadors for the strong spirit of friendship and solidarity fostered through ACT activities in Tokyo. He also took the opportunity to congratulate Timor-Leste on its admission as the 11th Member State of ASEAN, describing it as a historic milestone for the region.
Moreover, he encouraged continued unity, cooperation, and mutual support among ASEAN diplomatic missions in Japan, emphasizing the importance of collective engagement.
The evening concluded with the presentation of a keepsake to Ambassador Tuy Ry, followed by a group photo and a cordial dinner, reflecting the enduring camaraderie among ASEAN representatives in Tokyo.
