Tokyo, 8 October 2025. Mr. Célio da Silva, Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan, participated in the 12th Annual Meeting of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF) 2025, held in Tokyo.
International Forum on Energy, Climate, and Environment
ICEF is an international forum that addresses issues related to energy, climate, and the environment. The forum brings together experts from industry, academia, and government to engage in discussions and explore innovation-based solutions to address climate change.
Keynote Speeches and Panel Discussion
The ICEF 2025 meeting opened with keynote speeches delivered by Mr. Yoji Muto, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and Mr. Tanaka Nobuo, Chairman of the ICEF Steering Committee, former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), and CEO of Tanaka Global, Inc., Japan.
The first panel session featured speakers including Mr. Jean-Eric Paquet, Ambassador of the European Union to Japan; Mr. Shri Suma Kumar Bery, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog and Senior Managing Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC); and Dr. Jooho Whang, President and CEO of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.
