TOKYO, January 26, 2026 — Her Excellency Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas, Ambassador-designate of Timor-Leste to Japan, accompanied by Ms. Faviola Henriques da Cruz, attended the “Open Ship” and Departure Ceremony for the 2026 Youth Exchange Program.
Six youth participants from Timor-Leste are taking part in this year’s program, organized by the Government of Japan and the Government of Timor-Leste through the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture (MJDAC). The program includes an educational visit to Japan, followed by a maritime voyage to Singapore and Thailand.
The participation of these young ambassadors reflects the growing bilateral ties and cultural exchange between Timor-Leste and Japan.
