Tokyo, 27 July 2026 – Counselor Celio Moniz, representing H.E. Maria Terezinha Viegas, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, attended the Asia Africa Arab 55 Round Table Dinner, hosted by the General Incorporated Association Asia Africa Arab 55 in Tokyo.

The event marked the first official gathering under the leadership of Mrs. Akie Abe, who was recently appointed Chairperson of the Association. Mrs. Abe, the widow of the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, welcomed ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, business leaders, and members of the Association to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among Asia, Africa, and Arab countries.

The evening commenced with opening remarks by Executive Director Mr. Tetsuya Tani, followed by a welcome address from Mrs. Akie Abe. The diplomatic program also featured remarks from the Ambassador of Ethiopia on behalf of the diplomatic corps and a ceremonial toast by Board Director Mr. Koriki Jojima, before continuing with networking among ambassadors, embassy representatives, board members, and representatives of member companies.
