Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Tokyo
Tokyo, 2 September 2026 — H.E. Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, attended a reception to commemorate the 61st National Day of the Republic of Singapore in Tokyo.
The reception was attended by Her Imperial Highness Princess Tomohito of Mikasa, who served as Guest of Honour; Dr. Kunimitsu Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan; members of the diplomatic corps; Japanese business representatives; and other distinguished guests.
In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Ong Eng Chuan highlighted the strong and longstanding friendship between Singapore and Japan, particularly as the two countries commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan. He also highlighted the growing economic cooperation between the two countries and noted the forthcoming visit of Princess Aiko to Singapore, which is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and people-to-people ties between Singapore and Japan.

レセプションには、主賓として寛仁親王妃殿下、日本国外務副大臣の国光あやの氏、外交団関係者、日本の経済界代表者、その他多数の来賓が出席した。
挨拶の中で、駐日シンガポール大使オン・エンチュアン閣下は、シンガポールと日本の両国が外交関係樹立60周年を迎えるにあたり、両国間の強固かつ長年にわたる友好関係を強調した。大使はまた、両国間の経済協力の進展にも言及するとともに、愛子内親王殿下の近く予定されているシンガポール訪問が、両国間の関係および国民間の交流をさらに強化するものと期待されると述べた。
