Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Tokyo
Tokyo, 28 August 2026 — Third Secretary Egídio, representing the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan, attended the ACT Closing Ceremony and Tea Reception for the Japan-Singapore Partnership Programme for the 21st Century (JSPP21), hosted by the Ambassador of Singapore.
As part of the programme, Francisco Silvano do Rosario Ximenes of TIC Timor-Leste and Maria Lucia Trindade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry participated in a training programme on the digital economy, together with representatives from 17 countries. The training, held from 24 to 28 August 2026 in Tokyo, focused on issues related to the digital economy, including artificial intelligence, data governance, and policy.
The training provided an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences and share perspectives on the development of the digital economy in their respective countries. This exchange of experiences offered valuable insights into different approaches to digital transformation while fostering professional networks and strengthening regional cooperation.
For Timor-Leste, the knowledge and experiences gained through the training can support the country's digital transformation efforts, including the development of e-government and digital public services. Such capacity-building opportunities are relevant to Timor-Leste's efforts to strengthen digital capabilities and promote the development of a more digitally enabled economy.
This participation reflects Timor-Leste's continued engagement in regional capacity-building initiatives and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Japan, Singapore, and ASEAN partners in areas of mutual interest.
東京、2026年8月28日 — 在日本国東ティモール民主共和国大使館のエジディオ三等書記官は、シンガポール大使が主催する「日本・シンガポール21世紀のためのパートナーシッププログラム」(JSPP21)の閉講式(ACT Closing Ceremony)および茶会に出席した。
同プログラムの一環として、東ティモール貿易投資公社(TIC Timor-Leste)のフランシスコ・シルヴァノ・ド・ロザリオ・シメネス氏、および商工省のマリア・ルシア・トリンダーデ氏が、17か国の代表者とともにデジタル経済に関する研修プログラムに参加した。2026年8月24日から28日まで東京で開催された本研修では、人工知能、データガバナンス、政策立案をはじめとするデジタル経済に関する諸課題が取り上げられた。
本研修は、参加者が知見や経験を交換し、それぞれの国におけるデジタル経済の発展について視点を共有する貴重な機会となった。こうした経験の共有は、デジタル・トランスフォーメーションに対する多様なアプローチについて有益な示唆をもたらすとともに、専門家間のネットワーク構築および地域協力の強化にも寄与するものである。
東ティモールにとって、本研修を通じて得られた知見や経験は、電子政府(e-Government)やデジタル公共サービスの整備をはじめとする、同国のデジタル・トランスフォーメーションに向けた取組を後押しするものである。このような能力構築の機会は、東ティモールがデジタル分野における能力を強化し、よりデジタル化された経済の発展を推進する上で意義深いものである。
今回の参加は、地域における能力構築の取組に対する東ティモールの継続的な関与、および日本、シンガポールならびにASEANパートナー諸国との共通の関心分野における協力の強化に対する同国のコミットメントを反映するものである。
