Counselor Mr. Celio Moniz and Administrative and Financial Technician Ms. Faviola Henriques da Cruz, representing Timor-Leste as an ASEAN member state, attended the Welcome Reception for the ASEAN–Japan Exchange Program in Tokyo. The event was organized by the Japan Foundation and focused on secondary education.
The reception provided an opportunity for participants to meet and establish connections while enhancing their understanding of Japan’s educational system and society. The program includes a range of activities such as lectures, professional exchanges, study visits, and cultural programs designed to foster learning and mutual understanding.
Promoting Regional Understanding
The ASEAN–Japan Exchange Program serves as an important platform for strengthening people-to-people ties between ASEAN member states and Japan through educational engagement, cultural exchange, and collaborative learning experiences.
Through various learning activities and the exchange of experiences, participants are expected to broaden their perspectives, build international networks, and deepen their cross-cultural understanding. These efforts contribute to stronger regional cooperation and mutual respect among participating countries.
Timor-Leste’s participation in the program reflects its continued commitment to supporting educational cooperation, youth exchanges, and the strengthening of friendly relations between Timor-Leste, fellow ASEAN member states, and Japan.
