Timor-Leste Parliamentary Delegation Pays
Courtesy Visit to Japanese Parliament

A delegation from the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, led by the Chair of Commission E, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Gen Nakatani and members of the Parliament of Japan, as part of the delegation's official working visit to Japan.

The delegation was accompanied by Counselor Célio Moniz, Third Secretary Egídio, and officials from the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Japan.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on a range of issues aimed at further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Timor-Leste and Japan. Discussions also touched on Timor-Leste's accession to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with the delegation reaffirming the country's commitment to assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2029.

The courtesy visit underscored the shared commitment of Timor-Leste and Japan to strengthening parliamentary dialogue and deepening cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
