TOKYO, December 11, 2025 — Her Excellency Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Japan, accompanied by Counsellor Célio Moniz, held a formal meeting at the Embassy in Tokyo with a senior delegation from Wakachiku Construction Co., Ltd.
The delegation included Mr. Shinichi Tonogaki, International Department Manager; Mr. Hiromi Hiraki, Senior Manager; and Mr. Shinichi Wada, Deputy General Manager.
Honoring a Legacy of Infrastructure Contributions
The primary purpose of the meeting was the formal presentation of tokens of appreciation from the Minister of Health of Timor-Leste to Wakachiku Construction. This gesture recognizes the company’s crucial role in the ongoing construction of the fourth floor of the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) in Dili.
The meeting also highlighted Wakachiku’s extensive history of infrastructure projects in Timor-Leste, reflecting a partnership that spans over two decades, including:

Reaffirming Partnership
Ambassador Viegas expressed her profound appreciation for Wakachiku Construction’s longstanding commitment and reaffirmed the Embassy’s support for the successful completion of the hospital project. The meeting concluded with the formal handover of the souvenirs to Mr. Hiraki.
