HIROSHIMA, 10 May 2026 – H.E. Minister of Education Dulce de Jesus and her delegation, accompanied by Counselor Celio Moniz, visited the Hiroshima Atomic Bombing Memorial Hall today. The visit was hosted and guided by Professor Tatsuya Kusakabe and Ms. Hitomi Sato from the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE) at Hiroshima University.

During the solemn visit, the Minister toured the memorial, observing documented photographs and videos that depict the devastating tragedy of 1945. The visit provided a profound opportunity to reflect on the historical impact of the event and the resilience of the people of Hiroshima.

As a gesture of deep respect and remembrance for the victims, Her Excellency Minister Dulce de Jesus paid tribute at the Memorial Monument, honoring those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

The visit underscores the importance of historical awareness and the shared value of peace in the bilateral relationship between Timor-Leste and Japan.
