Prior to the main ceremony, Ambassador Viegas paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Amami City, Mr. Yasuda Sohei. During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed her sincere appreciation for the city’s steadfast support of Timor-Leste through the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP). Representing JCCI, Mr. Kuratani warmly welcomed the Timorese delegation. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting Timorese technical trainees across various prefectures, including Kagoshima, Nagano, and Fukushima, specifically in the construction, hospitality, and agriculture sectors.

Preparation and Cultural Exchange

The visit concluded with a formal group photo session and a coffee reception. As a gesture of gratitude and friendship, the Ambassador presented traditional Tais to the hosts, symbolizing the deep cultural bond and mutual respect between the two nations.
