TOKYO, 23 April 2026 – H.E. Ambassador Maria Terezinha Viegas, accompanied by Counselor Celio Moniz, held a cordial meeting with Mr. Hirose Michiaki, Senior Corporate Advisor of TOKYO GAS Co., Ltd., and his Assistant, Mr. Nohara Keiichiro, at the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Tokyo.
At the start of the meeting, Mr. Hirose warmly congratulated H.E. Ambassador Viegas on her official appointment as Ambassador to Japan and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and fruitful tenure.
During the discussion, Mr. Hirose announced his plan to visit Dili, Timor-Leste, in May this year, at the invitation of the Embassy of Japan in Dili. He expressed a strong interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the nation’s potential and exploring various forms of strategic cooperation that could be developed in the future.
The Embassy of Timor-Leste welcomes this initiative as an important step toward fostering stronger economic relations and exploring new partnerships with Japan’s leading energy entities.
