GIFU, 19 May 2026 — H.E. Maria Terezinha Viegas, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Japan, together with her delegation, attended a dinner gathering with Timorese students currently studying in Gifu, Japan.

The Embassy of Timor-Leste in Japan held a gathering with Timorese students in Gifu to strengthen unity, support, and educational ties.

The gathering provided an important opportunity for the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Japan to strengthen its connection with Timorese students living and studying abroad, while promoting a sense of unity, solidarity, and national identity among the younger generation.

The Embassy delegation included Ms. Faviola Henriques da Cruz, Administrative and Finance Technician of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Japan; Mr. João Mendonça, Labor Technician; and Ms. Ana Fragoso, Assistant to the Ambassador.

During the gathering, Ambassador Viegas expressed sincere appreciation for the dedication, perseverance, and hard work demonstrated by Timorese students pursuing higher education far from their homeland.
